I purchased a vehicle in Florida a few months ago and drove it back to PA where I live. Due to purchasing the vehicle out of state I was given a 30 day temp. tag for the car I financed through BMO Harris. The dealer claimed BMO is the only bank that would give me the loan. After going to my local DMV agent I was informed that he had to make a request for the title to be released from the lien-holder in order to plate the vehicle in the state of PA.

The request for the title was made on Nov. 20th. On Dec. 3rd I called BMO because there was no contact from the agent nor did I personally receive the title. The "personal banker" on this date told me that the title was MAILED out on Dec. 2nd (12 days for it to be mailed and just so happen to be the day before I called). After not receiving any contact from anyone for another 10 days I proceeded to call the agent to see if he had received the title but perhaps lost my number or misplaced the title. Needless to say, this wasn't the case and I was forced to call BMO once again. On the same day, Dec. 12th, the second "personal banker" confirmed the title was sent out Dec. 2nd and then informed me that they didn't put a tracking number on the MAILED title and there was a possibility the title was lost in the mail. I was told to give it 10-14 business days to see if the title would finally arrive. Anyone who has mailed letters/items knows that it usually doesn't take 10-14 days for a package to reach it's destination (IL to PA) let alone 10-14 business days.

Anyways, on Dec. 17th (11 business days since the title was supposedly mailed and five after I spoke with the banker) there was still no communication from the DMV agent so I called BMO once again. I explained the situation to "personal banker" 3 and was given the same confirmation that the title was mailed Dec. 2nd and that he would make another request for a title to be sent out and that he would call me back in a few hours to update me.

On Dec. 18th I called BMO again due to not hearing back from banker 3 and "personal banker" 4 confirmed everything that had been happening and that she would call me back within a few hours and give me an update. I called once again on Dec. 19th due to not hearing back from either of the last two bankers and talked with "personal banker" 5. Banker 5 finally tells me that BMO never had the title for my vehicle because Florida DMV had never released the title to them and that I had to call the DMV to figure out what was going on.

After talking to the FL DMV I called BMO one last time to speak with a supervisor. I explained the entire ordeal to the man and pointed out the blatant lies. Knowing he was there to diffuse the problem I was told that he would speak with the other four bankers and disciplinary actions would be taken. Whether this actually happened or not is not known.

So here is the list of things the first four "personal bankers" flat out lied about for almost a month; 1. they had a physical title to mail to the DMV agent in PA. 2. the title was mailed out on Dec. 2nd. 3. it would take 10-14 business days to arrive. 4. that there was a second request made to have the title to be sent out. 5. I would receive a call back from two different bankers and given updates.

Now, I understand if an employee of BMO Harris doesn't have all the information to fix my situation but to flat out lie and to continue the lie is unacceptable and extremely poor business practices. I have been paying on my auto loan for a glorified lawn ornament because I refuse to drive the vehicle illegally. I am still currently waiting on FL DMV to get the title sent up. If I was giving the correct information on Nov. 20th I'm positive I would already have the car plated and be driving it around.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

BMO Harris Bank Cons: Customer service.

Location: Mansfield, Pennsylvania

I also am having problems getting communication regarding a Lien placed on my mothers car. My mother passed in 2012 and the Lien was released 1/12.

I need a original letter stating this so I can get Title to the auto. I have sent all information needed and spoke to 6 people regarding this matter.

Told I will call you back, someone will contact you. NOTHING I am so upset!
